Michael Emery
Head Coach

Michael has been involved with track and field for 30 years. 15 of those years has been spent coaching. Michael has been mentored by some of the most knowledgeable coaches in the sports recent history. His 15 years of competition cover a lot of events. He has run everything from 100m to 2000m. In the field he has done long, triple and high jump. He has thrown javelin, discus and shot put. In all of the above his main events were the 200 and 400m. Michael also has a lot of experience coaching speed, agility and conditioning for other sports. He spent a number of years with university football teams as well as college soccer teams. Michael firmly believes every athlete has potential and looks forward to working with the athletes of Wainwright and our surrounding communities.


Eric Emery
Assistant Head Coach

Eric Emery is the young blood of our track club. His volunteer experience as President and Director with the East Central Alberta Optimist Club will help him in leading our club on its new journey. Eric has been active in track and field for 8 years and soccer for 10 years.
Eric decided it was time to give back to the sport; as many athletes do, and started his coaching career under the supervision of his father.
Eric moved from Ontario about 2 and half years ago and is now proud to call Wainwright home.
Eric has competed in the 100, 200, 400, and 800 m events as well as long jump. His main focus however is the 200 and 400 m. 
Eric is renown for his love of travel and hopes to become a police officer some day.Eric says "Come on out, have some fun and join the Wainwright Track and field Club!"
